Mark Finley instructs group on best-practices for evangelism and church growth.
Earlier this month, 65 elders from the Chesapeake Conference attended a Lay Leader Training Seminar at the Living Hope Community Church in Haymarket, Va. Pastor Mark Finley led out in the teaching sessions to equip and encourage each attendee to follow the Biblical model for ministry and church growth.
Seminarmaterial provided practical tools in areas such as spirituality, team ministry, preaching, and evangelism.
Eli Rojas, ministerial director of the Chesapeake Conference, encouraged all elders to attend the training to help localchurches be more effective and strategic in theirefforts. “Understanding the partnership between pastors and elders is pivotal to church growth. I’m excited that we can provide this training opportunity to our church leaders here in Chesapeake," Rojas said.

The weekend seminars served as a springboard for attendees to return to their home churches with new skills and a prayerfulexpectation to see God leadeach church to further growth.
