Evelyn began working as the receptionist at Chesapeake Conference in 2000. In addition to the receptionist, her duties include regular assistance to the Treasury Department with various projects, as well as for other departments when needed. She is also the Director of the Adventist Community Services (ACS).
Evelyn enjoys visiting churches and church community service centers during the year to encourage them and to learn from them. When invited to a church, she and her husband, Paul, present a joint ACS Sabbath Service, which includes an ACS sermon, children's feature, and workshop in the afternoon, if requested.
Prior to working in the Chesapeake Conference office, Evelyn was a substitute teacher on the Eastern Shore inChesapeake schools as well as Talbot County Public School System. When she moved to the central area of the state she also subbed in the local area.
Before moving toChesapeake , she taught school in Florida , Georgia-Cumberland and Michigan Conferences for fifteen years. While in Michigan , she also worked as secretary in the Education, Sabbath School , and Child Evangelism Departments at the conference office and was a presenter in the Sabbath School and VBS Workshops each quarter and summer.
Evelyn and Paul were married in August 1953. Paul is retired from the active ministry and teaching fields. They live inGlen Burnie , Maryland , and are enjoying a bit more relaxed schedule than before retirement. They have three children, ten grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
