Charles has worked for the Chesapeake Conference for twelve years, first in early ministry days at Wilmington, Delaware, more recently as pastor of the Williamsport Church, and now as the Secretary of the Conference and Association, as well as Trust Services Director.

Charles is a native of Louisiana and attended Union College and Andrews University, having a BA and MA in Religion, and a MDIV and DMIN from Andrews.  He has divided his years of service between pastoral ministry and administration in three world divisions – South America, Far East, and North America. He has been a conference and mission president, conference secretary, and a departmental director in both the local conference and General Conference.  While working for the church, he has been involved in primitive church growth in the jungles of Brazil, certification training of leaders in all the divisions of the world church, and traveled the world – 93 countries.

Charles and Evelyn have four children, thirteen grandchildren, a dog "Queen of Sheba", and a cat "King George II".

The Griffins continue to be members of the Williamsport Church where Evelyn is Bible Worker. They live on the side of South Mountain overlooking the Cumberland Valley in Smithsburg, Maryland.
